Might I suggest alcohol removed wine? It got me through Dry July (Edenvale sparkling and their shiraz from Woolies). The red is rather like a light Italian table red, a little sweet but not offensive and the bubbles taste very close to the real thing. Each bottle has around 200cals, so it won't break the diet.
I just ordered a dozen different "fake" wines to try from here - http://www.nonalcwines.com.au/index.asp?pageID=1
Not sure what your views are on substituting but it works for me - plus you get all the health benefits of a glass of red sans alcohol.
hi SN thanks for the comment. I don't think that is a good idea for me, as I do love real wine so, and it would be very easy for this strange no drinking situation to end.
Well good on you. You are doing fantastically - you should be very proud of your achievements so far.
It's interesting just how much time one spends thinking about booze when trying *not* to drink. I for one applaud your efforts. It aint easy being dry but I reckon it's got to be worth the "experiment" to figure deeper issues out.
You're doing great! You should be very proud.
